Dr. Alice Hanson was born and raised in Albany, NY where she graduated from Shenendehowa High School. She moved down south for her undergraduate studies where she attended Mississippi State University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry. After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Hanson received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry, Cum Laude.
While attending SCO, Dr. Hanson was a member of the American Optometric Association and became a Student Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She was also treasurer for SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and travelled to Belize for a SVOSH clinic hosted by the Lions Club of Belmopan. In her free time, Dr. Hanson enjoys watching the Memphis Grizzlies, going fishing with her husband, Kenneth, and going on walks with her dog, Rue. She also enjoys crafts like crocheting and quilting.
